·         Concourses Take Shape:  Motorists along Second Street as well as pedestrians near Great American Ball Park are now able to see the beginnings of the vast concourses that will become a hallmark of the new park.  Huge steel “portal frames,” or U-shaped archways now have been installed along the third base line.  The open space allows for walkways more than 40 feet wide, as compared to Cinergy Field’s 20-foot-wide concourses.  With a little imagination, passers-by can picture crowds milling around as well as concession stands within this vast space.

·         The Beginnings of the Gap:  For the first time, the “Gap” is now visible at the Great American Ball Park.  Steel installation along the third base line has progressed far enough west that the opening in the structure, which aligns with Sycamore Street, is clearly taking shape.  Observers with a keen eye will notice that the structures to the east and west of Sycamore Street feature different sizes, shapes and slopes toward the field.

The Gap opens up the ball park allowing fans inside a view of the city, and pedestrians outside a view to the field.  Bridges will connect the two sides of the Gap creating some of the most breathtaking concourse views in baseball.

·         Community Displays:  The traveling Great American Ball Park display, featuring renderings, construction photos and other pertinent project information continues to tour the community.
