| Construction News: Construction continues to
progress on the Great American Ball Park light towers. Workers this past
week put up the eighth of the 12 structures. At this pace, the 12th tower
will be erected sometime during the first two weeks of May. The installation
will mark the completion of the highest point of construction. To mark the
occasion, crews will commemorate the event with a ceremonial ATopping Out@
event. |
| Community Display Schedule: The Great American Ball
Park traveling display, featuring photographs, renderings and riverfront
development information, will be on display in front of the Dugout Shop,
inside the Westin Hotel, 21 East Fifth Street, through May 6. |
| Fun Fact: On April 26, 1876, the Red Stockings defeated St. Louis 2-1 to christen the brand new Avenue Grounds ballpark. This game also marked the Reds debut into the inaugural National League (which eventually evolved into Major League Baseball). |
