Contract Information Meeting Scheduled: With the project turning the corner and the ball park nearing its final construction phase, new contracts will soon be available for bid. The Great American Ball Park project team will host a Contractors Information Meeting on Tuesday, August 6th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, 3458 Reading Road.

The meeting is designed to accommodate small, minority and women owned-businesses and familiarize them with the upcoming contracts and bidding process. Attendees will receive information about the project scope, bid packages and upcoming pre-bid or bid-opening meetings.
 
Construction News: Workers continue to make notable progress on all areas of Great American Ball Park. Following are some highlights.
 
bulletThe Great American Ball Park sign was installed on July 27. The massive red, white and blue sign was placed atop the main scoreboard. Fans and onlookers can see the neon sign from Mehring Way. The Capital letters (G, A, B and P) measure seven feet tall, while the lower case letters are six feet tall. The 121-foot long, 30-foot tall sign weighs a whopping 35,000 pounds!
 
bulletBrick installation continues on the administration building, pedestrian ramps and brew pub. The brew pub will be located along the northwestern portion of the ball park and will be open year round. It will be dubbed the “Machine Room” in honor of the Big Red Machine dynasty of the 1970s.
 
bulletThe Cincinnati Reds and Motz Group are scheduled to begin field installation work this week.
 
bulletPreparation work for the seat installation continues. Crews must drill a total of 84,120 holes, then set anchor bolts and hang east-iron stanchions before they can install the seat backs and set the chairs.
