Play-By-Play

Construction Update: Great American Ball Park crews continue construction work on the brewpub. Michael Schuster Associates designed the Machine Room to pay homage to the Big Red Machine teams of the 1970s. It will span over 35 feet high and feature an industrial makeup of exposed metal and design elements of an old-time factory. The spacious interior will give fans a blue collar-like feel and impressions of a comfort zone after a hard day’s work.

In addition to the industrialized look, the Machine Room also will feature a baseball field motif. Surrounding the square bar will be foul poles and walls painted green with distance markers, reminiscent of the outfield walls of a ball park. The bartender will have a manual scoreboard behind the bar to keep the patrons updated on the game. In addition, there will be Reds’ photos, renderings, trivia and memorabilia sprinkled throughout the brewpub.

Fun Fact: The Machine Room is located behind the left field foul line. This location should create an atmosphere where fans will feel as if they are a part of the game. The seats outside the windows of the Machine Room were lowered so fans in the brewpub would be able to watch the game.
Home Sweet Home: The Cincinnati Reds have finalized their recent move into the new administration building, 100 Main Street. The Reds new phone number at Great American Ball Park is 513-765-7000.

Community Displays: The Great American Ball Park traveling display, featuring photographs, renderings and riverfront development information, will be on display in the Provident Bank Building, 1 East Fourth Street, through October 20.
