Construction Schedule Report: On October 28, project managers presented a Great American Ball Park construction schedule update to the Hamilton County Commissioners at the commissioners’ staff meeting.
      Key Schedule Items:
 
bulletThe ball park is 80% complete and remains on target for Opening Day 2003 completion. (Phase 1 – substantial completion)
 
bulletThe ball park plaza and parking remain on target for spring 2004 completion. (Phase 2)
 
bulletThe Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame is on schedule for a summer 2004 completion.

 
SBE Numbers Remain Strong: Project managers also released a report outlining the level of Small Business Enterprise participation in the Great American Ball Park project. As of August 31, 2002, a total of 24.7% of all contracted work had been committed to small businesses, which includes any minority- and women-owned businesses that also are classified as small businesses. A further breakdown shows that 11.3% of contracts went to minority-owned businesses and 3.9% to women-owned business enterprises.
 
Safety Update: Through August 31, only seven lost workday incidents were reported for the construction of Great American Ball Park and related projects. Even with these incidents, the project lost workday incident rate stands at 1.1, well below the national average of 5.4. This statistic encompasses nearly 1.3 million hours worked.
 
Community Displays: The Great American Ball Park traveling display, featuring photographs, renderings and riverfront development information, will be on display in the Chiquita Center, 250 East Fifth Street, through November 11.
