Play-By-Play

Picture Day: On Tuesday December 10 from 3:00-4:00 p.m., the Great American Ball Park project team will host another media opportunity for still and video photographers. This month’s Picture Day will give photographers the chance to “shoot” the ball park from the southeastern portion of the outfield, next to the Batter’s Eye facility.

As with every Picture Day opportunity, proper attire for those attending is required. Individuals wearing dresses, skirts, high heels, open-toed shoes or gym shoes will not be allowed onto the job site. Participants must wear long pants and hard-soled shoes to proceed. Prior to entering, individuals are required to sign a waiver of release. Everyone must wear a hard hat throughout the duration of his or her time in the construction zone. The Project Safety Manager reserves the right to deny entry to anyone not dressed properly for the work site.

Construction News: Workers continue to make notable progress on all areas of Great American Ball Park. Following are some highlights:

bulletCrews are beginning to run tests on the main scoreboard. The 68’x 217’9” scoreboard will be turned on and off throughout the week.

bulletThe testing of the field lighting system continues. Crews have begun aiming the lights towards designated spots on the field.

bulletCrosley Terrace continues to sprout out incredible new nuances. Workers are now placing dirt in the planter boxes. There are pedestals already in place where the Reds statues will eventually be mounted.

bulletInterior design crews are now installing granite countertops in the suites.

bulletThe installation of seats along the upper bowl is nearing completion.

3… 2… 1… There are now 23 days left until the implosion of Cinergy Field. The structure is scheduled for implosion at 8:00 a.m. on December 29.
