Cinergy Field Plaza Has Date
With Wrecking Ball

WHAT:




 
While the demolition of the remaining portions of Cinergy Field commenced on October 1, 2002, the first wrecking ball will strike the facility on Monday, October 7 at 8 a.m. as the northeast portion of the plaza and parking deck begins to be razed.

The media are invited to witness this milestone and then will be given a brief tour of the inside of Cinergy Field to view the demolition progress firsthand. O’Rourke Wrecking Company has already begun removal of the seats, lighting and signage from within the stadium.

To make certain you see the start of demolition, members of the media should meet at 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Second and Main streets.  This event will occur rain or shine.

NOTE:






 

Because this is a construction site, media attending the event must be in proper attire and should wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Shorts, gym shoes and open-toed or open-heeled shoes are considered inappropriate attire and will not be permitted on site. The Project Safety Manager reserves the right to deny entry to anyone not properly dressed for the construction site.

All entrants to the construction area must sign a waiver prior to entering the demolition area and are required to wear a regulation hard hat while on the site.
