A NEW WEB SITE OFFERS INFO ON APPLYING FOR FEDERAL GRANTS

“Grants.gov”, a comprehensive web site contains information about finding and applying for all federal grant programs and makes it easier for organizations to learn about and apply for federal grants. The site provides information in a standardized format across agencies and includes a “Find Grant Opportunities” feature to help applicants find potential funding opportunities. The site also contains an “Apply for Grants” feature that greatly simplifies the application process by allowing applicants to download, complete, and submit applications for specific grant opportunities from any federal grant-making agency. To date, application packages have been posted to the Grants.gov web site for most government agencies. To access the site, visit: http://www.grants.gov.

bulletVisitors can search for any grant opportunity money the government is making available on one site,
bulletSearches for grant opportunities can be made by simple text search, specific funding opportunity, posting date, Catalog For Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number, funding activity category, agency, funding instrument type or grant topic,
bulletVisitors can also register for a free email service that notifies subscribers when new grant opportunities become available,
bulletApplicants for federal grants are now required to have an identification number supplied by the Dun and Bradstreet business information company {call at 866-705-5711 or visit www.dnb.com}; after obtaining a nine-digit Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number, organizations seeking government grant money should register with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) at www.ccr.gov.
