Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority Board

• Purpose: The authority shall exercise in its own name all the rights, powers, and duties vested in and conferred upon it by Ohio Revised Code, Section 306.30 to 306.53.

• Establishing Authority: Ohio Revised Code, Section 306.02

• Composition: A county transit board authorized by Section 306.01 of the Ohio Revised Code shall consist of seven members. All members shall be electors of the county, shall be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), and shall have such qualifications as the BOCC may establish in its resolution under Section 306.01 of the Ohio Revised Code. The appointments shall be for overlapping three-year terms, provided that of the initial terms, two shall be for one year, two for two years, and three for three years. Appointments thereafter shall be for the full term of three years except that any vacancy which occurs during a term shall be filled for the unexpired term. The county commissioners shall fill any vacancy which occurs in the board within ninety days after the occurrence of the vacancy.
