Allen's employer terminated her and two colleagues, all of whom filed for benefits. All three were denied and appealed, with the other two granted benefits on appeal. Allen's attorney told her that her former employer had withdrawn opposition to her claim, and she need not appear. Her claim was dismissed for failure to appear. Allen appealed the claim denial to the trial court, which affirmed the denial because Allen failed to show good cause. Reversed, because Allen relied on her attorney's advice, which was reasonable, and her claim should have been reinstated.
