DEATHS BY MONTH

An accidental death is a result of an unnatural cause where there is no evidence of intent to cause harm.

Three hundred eighty-six deaths were certified as accidental deaths during 2006.  For the first time in Hamilton County history, the number one cause of accidental deaths in the county was "Drug Overdose" (33%).  Second was the normal number one, "Motor Vehicle Traffic Accidents" (30%) of those "MVTA" deaths nearly 47% tested positively for alcohol and /or other drugs at autopsy.
