ARSON 2003

                  FUNCTIONS

                                1.  Analysis of fire debris for accelerants such as gasoline, kerosene

                                        paint thinner, lighter fluid, etc.

                                2.  Availability to go to fire scenes to collect evidence.

                                3.  Working frequently with the Special County Arson Taskforce 

                                       (SCAT), in particular in the training and evaluation of the 

                                        accelerant detection dog.

NOTE: There were 167 submissions to the arson section  in 2003, 89 yielded positive 

                        results.
