Steel Installation Methodology:  Steel installation has begun on the far eastern side of the Great American Ball Park site.  This area, which includes the scoreboard, is adjacent to the Firstar Center.  Installation will progress counter-clockwise in three layers, with each “pass” building upon the previous layer.  As massive cranes work their way around the site, each pass will be clearly discernable even to the untrained eye.

Pass 1:  View and terrace levels of the park

Pass 2:  Upper seating bowl, upper decks and light towers

Pass 3:  Canopy and topping off of light towers

Fun Fact:  The Model 999 crane used to install most of the structural steel at Great American Ball Park has enough lifting power to simultaneously hoist         192 Volkswagen Beetles .

·         Job Site Dress Code Reminder:  The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requires that anyone entering a construction site be properly attired.  Media entering the site must wear sturdy shoes (no gym shoes), long pants and a hard hat.  All entrants to the job site also must sign a waiver.  Anyone not dressed appropriately will not be permitted in construction areas.

·         Board of Commissioners Meeting Note:  The Hamilton County Board of Commissioners meeting on Wednesday, August 1 at 9:30 a.m. will be held at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds on Vine Street in Carthage.

·         Community Displays:  The Great American Ball Park traveling display, featuring photographs, renderings and riverfront development information, will be on display for the next two weeks in the lobby of the 580 Building in downtown Cincinnati.
