·         SBE Numbers Still On Track:  Project managers recently released a report outlining the level of Small Business Enterprise involvement in the Great American Ball Park project.  As of July 31, 2001, a total of 26.1% of all contracted work had been awarded to small businesses, which includes any minority- and women-owned businesses that also are small.  A further breakdown shows that 12.5% of contracts went to minority-owned businesses and 3.9% to women-owned enterprises.

·         Safety Update:  Safety Update:  Through July 31, only two lost work day incidents have been reported for the construction of Great American Ball Park and related projects.  Even with these incidents, the project lost work day incident rate stands at 1.2, well below the national average of 5.4.  Prior to this lost time, the combined riverfront projects had logged more than half a million man hours without a single lost-time injury.

·         What’s in a Name:  As work on Great American Ball Park progresses and media coverage intensifies, it is worth noting the proper name of the facility should be written as follows: Great American Ball Park not “Ballpark.”

·         Community Displays:  Throughout the summer, the Great American Ball Park project team has displayed the architectural model as well as a traveling display featuring photos and artist renderings of riverfront development.  Following is the display schedule for the rest of the summer.  Fall and winter display schedules will be published here as soon as they are available.

Traveling Display: September 7- 19, Post Office Building, 525 Vine Street

Model Display: September 15, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, 5th Street, between Race                           and Broadway
