of Commissioners officially awarded three trade contracts on Wednesday,
September 5, 2001. Details of

SBE Numbers Still On Track:
Project managers recently released a report outlining the level of
Small Business Enterprise involvement in the Great American Ball Park
project. As of July 31, 2001,
a total of 26.1% of all contracted work had been awarded to small
businesses, which includes any minority- and women-owned businesses that
also are small. A further
breakdown shows that 12.5% of contracts went to minority-owned businesses
and 3.9% to women-owned enterprises. |

Safety Update:
Safety Update:
Through July 31, only two lost work day incidents have been reported for
the construction of Great American Ball Park and related projects.
Even with these incidents, the project lost work day incident rate stands
at 1.2, well below the national average of 5.4.
Prior to this lost time, the combined riverfront projects had
logged more than half a million man hours without a single lost-time
injury. |

coverage intensifies, it is worth noting the proper name of the facility
should be written as follows: Great
American Ball Park not
“Ballpark.” |

Throughout the summer, the Great American Ball Park project team has
displayed the architectural model as well as a traveling display featuring
photos and artist renderings of riverfront development.
