Construction Schedule
Report: On January 9, project
managers presented a Great American Ball Park construction schedule update
to the Hamilton County Commissioners at the weekly Commission meeting.
Key
Schedule Items: o
The ball park remains on target for an April 2003 Opening Day. o
The Cincinnati Reds administration building remains on target for a
November 2002 occupancy. o
Phase 2 demolition, the demolition of the remainder of Cinergy Field,
is scheduled to commence in November of 2002. o
Phase
2 construction of Great American Ball Park, including the Reds Hall of
Fame, Crosley Terrace and completion of the ball park grounds is on target
for an April 2004 (Opening Day 2004) completion. |

Numbers Remain Strong: Project managers also released a report outlining the level
of Small Business Enterprise participation in the Great American Ball Park
project. As of November 30,
2001, 27.1% of all contracted work had been committed to small businesses,
which includes any minority- and women-owned businesses that also are
classified as small businesses. A
further breakdown shows that 12.1% of contracts went to minority-owned
businesses and 3.4% to women-owned business enterprises. |

Safety
Update:
Through
November 30, only three lost work day incidents were reported for the
construction of Great American Ball Park and related projects. Even with these incidents, the project lost work day
incident rate stands at 1.3, well below the national average of 5.4.

Workforce Breakdown of Project: Commissioners
were also presented with workforce breakdowns by race and gender for
contracts awarded through November 30, 2001.
Percentages were as follows: 83% White, 14% African-American, 2%
"other," and 1% Hispanic; and 95% male and 5% female. |
