· Construction News: Workers continue to make notable progress on all aspects of the Great American Ball Park. Following are some highlights: ° Construction progresses on the light towers. Workers this past week put up the fifth of 12 light towers. Atop each light tower workers are erecting lightning rods for ball park safety purposes. The rods are designed to harness lightning and avoid possible strikes to the superstructure. At the base of each light tower are detachable, cage-like rings used for tool storage. Upon completion of the towers, these rings will be removed. ° Interior work within the superstructure continues. Stud walls are starting to form what will eventually become the suites. ° Glass is now on site for glazing purposes along the north side of the administration building. Window frames are already in place on the Terrace Level of the administration building. Workers will begin installing the glass next week. ° Excavation work for canopies and the bank of seating along the left field foul line is under way. All canopies east of the gap are in place. ° Brick paving along the north façade of the ball park is up. The scaffolding has come off the south façade to accommodate future brick paving. |
