Play-By-Play

Construction News: Workers continue to make notable progress on all areas of Great American Ball Park. Following are some highlights.

bulletCrews have focused their efforts on the Cincinnati Reds Administration Building. Workers are now setting up light fixtures and cabinets, as well as putting in ceiling and flooring tiles. The Reds will move into their new offices in October.

bulletThe Motz Group is continuing preparation work on the field. They are currently installing drainage pipes and irrigation lines. Crews also are working on the area below the Batter’s Eye, beyond the left field wall. This area will serve as a sod nursery.

bulletInstallation Solutions continues to install seat posts and backs along the upper levels of the ball park. Great American Ball Park will be one of only a handful of Major League Baseball stadiums that will feature a cup holder and team logo on every seat. Crews will begin setting the chairs after the seatbacks are installed.

Fun Fact – The club seats will be upholstered with a 2-inch padding, and the scout seats behind home plate will be fully upholstered, similar in design and comfort to a chair in a movie theater.
bulletWorkers continue glass installation work at the ball park. Exterior glasswork on the Machine Room brewpub has been completed.

bulletIntermediate handrails for aisles have been installed in the bleachers area below the main scoreboard.

bulletExterior framing has begun on the upper right-hand portion of the Batter’s Eye.

Community Displays: The Great American Ball Park traveling display, featuring photographs, renderings and riverfront development information, will be on display in the main lobby of the 580 Building, 580 Walnut Street, through September 17.
