Play-By-Play

Construction News: Workers continue to make notable progress on all areas of Great American Ball Park. Following are some highlights:

bulletCrews have installed the Great American Ball Park sign along the west side of the structure, above Club 4192. Upon the demolition of Cinergy Field, fans will be able to see the sign from Elm Street.

bulletThe press box is beginning to come together. Unlike Cinergy Field, the windows of the press box will open and the spacious work areas will be writer-friendly with a better ergonomic design. The Great American Ball Park press box will feature four tiered levels for better viewing.

bulletThe home team locker room is starting to take shape. Workers are currently installing the ceiling. The locker room will feature two Cincinnati Reds wishbone “C” logos embedded in the ceiling. Monitor stands will be mounted in the next couple of weeks.

bulletTechnicians will begin outfitting the scoreboard room. Once completed, this room will serve as the scoreboard operation control center.

bulletWorkers are finishing up with the installation of the entrance gates.

Community Displays: The Great American Ball Park traveling display, featuring photographs, renderings and riverfront development information, will be on exhibit at Reds Fest VII on December 6 and 7. Reds Fest VII will take place at the Albert B. Sabin Convention Center, Fifth & Elm, Cincinnati.

3… 2… 1… There are now 30 days left until the implosion of Cinergy Field. The structure is scheduled for implosion at 8:00 a.m. on December 29.
