Construction News: Workers continue to make notable progress on all areas of Great American Ball Park. Following are some highlights:

bulletHome Run Feature – Crews continue to work on the Cincinnati Reds home run celebration feature, located between the Batter’s Eye and the Sun/Moon Deck. Workers have drilled holes into the concrete and are installing the steam-blowing pipes.

bulletBackstop – A net backstop has been installed behind home plate. The backstop is in place to ensure that balls fouled back do not strike the fans seated behind home plate.

bulletSound System and Video Board – Crews have begun testing the sound system in the concession areas and around the lower bowl of the ballpark. Workers also are testing the digital video board located on the main scoreboard.

bulletField wall pads – Workers continue to place the green padding along the field walls.

bulletBroadcast booths – Work on the press box is near completion. The separate booths for home and visitor television and radio broadcasts are beginning to take shape.

bulletClubs – Work continues on the Riverfront Club and Club 4192. Crews are currently constructing the chef stations and bars.
