Visitation Rules Standard

All visitors must be pre-approved. If a family member or friend is not on the authorized visitor list located at Central Control, he/she will not be admitted to the facility.

Visits may be terminated due to overcrowding.

All persons entering the River City Correctional Center are subject to search. All persons entering the facility must empty their pockets and pass through the metal detector located in the front lobby. Refusal to comply with these procedures will constitute just cause to deny entry.

Unauthorized items shall be left in the visitor's vehicle or stored in a locker in the lobby until the visit is complete. Unauthorized items include, but are not limited to the following: purses, phones, pagers, bags, medications, audio/visual devices, possible weapons, knives, double backed photos, dolls, stuffed toys, hollow game pieces, electronic games and any food or beverage.

NOTHING may be dropped off for a resident during visitation. All items/money must be mailed or dropped off during specified times, (see sign in lobby).

If a resident has to leave visitation for any reason, the visit is terminated.

Physical contact between a resident and his/her adult visitor(s) is not permitted. A resident may hold his/her child. Inappropriate physical contact between a resident and his/her visitor will result in the visit being terminated.

Residents are responsible for the behavior of their children.

Visitors must follow the dress code for River City Correctional Center in order to visit a resident. The dress code is as follows:

Only two adult family members and three children (biological or adopted) are allowed in a one-hour visit.

Visitors arriving 15 or more minutes late will not be permitted to visit.

Visitors must attend Family Programming each week in order to visit a resident at the River City Correctional Center.
