The purpose of this project is to improve the quality of life for the current residents of Over-the-Rhine. Thus, it is important to retain as many current residents of the area as is possible to populate the finished project. This means that a majority of the housing units provided will be affordable housing. Most of the units have been designated so as to make them eligible for affordable housing subsidies from the government. Other considerations such as recycled building materials and donated materials from local corporations decrease the initial construction costs making the units even more affordable. Sustainable techniques such as passive heating, cooling, and water reduction and recycling systems will reduce the cost of operating and maintaining the buildings.
