An integral part of our proposal is to better the transportation in the region. In the absence of a light rail system, it is appropriate to encourage alternate modes of travel. The way in which we hope to accomplish this is to create a transportation hub that caters towards bicyclists. To do this a bike changing station would need to be created, a place where bike commuters can securely park their bikes and, for a fee, shower or have their bike serviced while they are at work. To accomplish this a bus station will have to be moved closer to the future bike station. Establishing this service will put cyclist within walking range of a variety of business and entertainment destinations. The close proximity to the Main Street district will be a great benefit to this goal. With the close location of such a young vibrant neighborhood this goal would be greatly appreciated by residents and commuters of downtown.
