Tuition Reimbursement Program

Hamilton County Commissioners approved a tuition benefit program for full-time employees' continued education to attract and retain top talent. Hamilton County has launched the tuition reimbursement program that pays up to $5,250 a year towards an associate, bachelor's, or master's degrees and extends countywide to all 4,300 employees including all elected offices, courts, and departments.

The Board of County Commissioners of Hamilton County, Ohio, have approved new opportunities for eligible Hamilton County employees1 to engage in professional growth through educational partnerships with area colleges and universities. Workplace Wellness Program

The Board of County Commissioners recognizes the benefits of workplace wellness programs that support employee health and wellness; they have been shown to increase productivity, reduce absenteeism and on-the-job injuries, and improve the morale and quality of life for employees. Workplace wellness programs can also play an important role in containing healthcare costs for both the employee and the County.

The Purpose of Hamilton County's Workplace Wellness Program is:

  1. To empower employees to attain their best possible health.
  2. To aide in reducing preventable healthcare costs for both the employees and the County.
  3. Provide a supportive work environment that promotes the health and well-being of its employees.
  4. Commit resources to foster awareness about personal health and to build a supportive workplace environment that encourages and motivates employees to make the healthy choice and take healthy actions.
  5. To be a role model for other employers within Hamilton County.



Smoking Cessation Program

Given the new restrictions on smoking, many smokers are trying to break the habit and lead healthier lives. To assist you in your efforts, Hamilton County is teaming up with local hospitals that offer smoking cessation classes, support groups, and various options and resources that may help you stop smoking. Reminder to all Health Care Spending Account Participants...

If you are a participant in the County's Health Care Spending Account Program, you may submit your out-of-pocket medical expenses for patches or medication used for these programs to reimburse yourself. For your convenience, a link to a Chard-Snyder claim form   is here for your use.

 

Smoking Cessation Programs

UC Health/UC Cancer Institute Smoking Cessation Help 584-QUIT (584-7848)

In partnership with UC Health, the UC Cancer Institute offers a free pharmacist-assisted smoking cessation clinic

  • Free 12-week program with one-on-one coaching and access to smoking cessation medications
  • Appointments available on Mondays and Thursdays at the Barrett Center, 234 Goodman Street
Mercy Health Smoking Cessation Program (513) 624-1090

Smokers and their families may register for a free series of four (4) smoking cessation education classes

  • follows the American Cancer Society’s Freshstart program
  • class size is limited to 15 for comfortable group interaction and discussion
Targeting Tobacco: The Christ Hospital  513-263-8699
  • A tobacco cessation wellness coaching program customized to target the triggers that send you back to tobacco use
  • Emphasizes use of nicotine replacement or pharmacological treatment with the use of a support group

Toll-free quit line has trained counselors available to discuss quitting challenges, answer questions and send information.
